I always get excited when I get requests for posts or videos because of a previous post or video because that just means you’re reading / watching my stuff! Thank you for that, by the way – I really appreciate it! After my 2018 planner setup post and video went up, I got a few requests for how I plan in my Hobonichi. I’ve never filmed a “Plan with me” YouTube video before, so I may be a bit rough around the edges with this, but I went ahead and filmed one. Before I go into that, let me just say, to all of you planner ladies who do ‘Plan with me’ videos – I don’t know how you do it so well, it isn’t easy thinking about the week ahead when you’re all nervous and sweaty on the camera!
As always, I do my weekly planning on Sunday morning for the following week. This gives me some prep time for the week once I figure out what it will be looking like. For this stage of the planning, I write out my appointments, chores for each day and a general to-do list for the week.
Every night before bed, I plan out the next day and as much as I can, I plan by time. Sometimes, that may not be possible, so I’ll set aside a chunk of time to cover tasks. On the daily pages, I track habits, food and take notes from the day – so I don’t actually “plan” there. All other brainstorming, list making and random notes happen in my Midori notebook that’s at the back of the Hobonichi.
If you want to plan with me or watch my novice attempt at filming it, watch my video!
